This week in 4B...

We are off to a wonderful start to the week!  Here's what's happening in 4B!

In Math, "We are learning about place value and how to add big numbers and word problems in our minds" -Emmanuel

In Reading, "We are reading Winn Dixie and getting our reading levels tested so we can start reading groups.  We are also learning how to build stamina in silent reading."-Rami

In Spelling, "We are learning new words to help our education in spelling and writing.  Our new spelling patterns are vowel, consonant, vowel or vowel consonant consonant vowel.  Our lists are in the back of our take home folders and we have a spelling test this Friday.  We have lists based upon how we did on our pre-tests so they might be different from our friends."-Seth

Welcome to 4th Grade!!

We had a fantastic start to 4th grade today!  I just wanted to answer some possible questions as we get started this week.

Snacks:
As a grade level we decided to only allow fruits or vegetables as a snack this year due to allergies.  We had a discussion today to help us remember if it grows from a tree or the ground it counts, fruit snacks do not.  We will be eating our snack at 10:00 each day.

Planners:
Students had homework tonight to have you sign their planner.  I ask that each night you sign their planner so we can keep communication about what their assignments are.

Binders:
We will organize binders tomorrow and the expectation is that they take them home and return them each day to practice their organizational schools so they are prepared for fifth grade center.

I took some lovely first day of fourth grade pictures in case you didn't catch one as you were going out the door this morning.  I will be posting them soon.

I will be sending home more information on Friday but please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you & Have a wonderful week!
