This week in 4B...

I heard a lot of highs of the day that included enjoying the sunshine over the weekend.  :)   They're equally as excited about snow Wednesday.

Here's what we are up to this week!

Math: We are beginning our Fractions Unit.  Be sure to sign and return the Decimals test if you haven't already.  (I am so proud of all of the excellent scores!)

Reading: We are beginning our Historical Fiction Unit this week.  We are also working on growing our ideas as we read by writing on sticky notes our ideas about characters, inferences or the author purpose.

Writing: We are finishing up our Literary Essay Unit this week and begin our Informational Writing Unit.  We will start by researching Famous Missourians.

Social Studies: We are still on an adventure with Lewis & Clark!

Science: Mrs Grasser will be focusing on the circulatory system this week.

This week in 4B....

*We received a thank you note from Lutheran Senior Services thanking us for brightening their day on Valentine's Day.  (We got to show off our poetry skills in our cards)   :) I am so proud of 4B!

*We are also excited for our field trip this Friday to the food bank.  Please send your child with $1 for pizza when we return from our trip and I will cover the rest.

*Some students requested Math Fact Scholars fliers today because they are interested in the program.  They are welcome to sign up at any time on myschoolbucks.

Math: Look out for a study guide coming home tomorrow! We will be testing over our decimals Unit on Thursday.

Reading/Writing: We are continuing to work on identifying theme in different types of literature.  Additionally, we are writing about the theme of our books in Literary Essays and supporting our idea with evidence from the text.

Science: Students are currently in the Human Body Unit rotation learning about many systems of the body with Mrs. Grasser.  Next up, they will learn about the scientific method with Mrs. Hadfield.

Social Studies: We are learning all about Lewis & Clark and their discoveries through the book What Was the Lewis & Clark Expedition?

Spelling: Instead of my standard spelling tests we will be studying Wordmasters words for vocabulary this week. (There is a fun quizlet I created below on my blog)
