This week in 4B....

We are very excited about the warm weather and that we are starting all new units!

Math: We are beginning our multiplication and division unit.  It is very important that your child is practicing their math facts each night.  They have flash cards and websites that they know about to help them with this. :)
Writing: We will be starting our Opinion Writing Unit.  Be prepared for some amazing suggestions at home backed by counter arguments and claims.  We will have a persuasive letter coming home at the end of the week.

Reading: We are moving onto other elements in fiction and finishing up our read aloud Fish In A Tree.  We have reading partnerships and write reading responses weekly.

Social Studies: We are working on our Missouri Regions Unit. We still have a few weeks to focus on this before we move back into Science.

This Week in 4B...

"In Math we are having a test on Thursday so we're reviewing a lot in class and the divisibility rules." -Will    (Our lovely divisibility song is here  )

"Our field trip to Onondaga Cave was exciting!  There were a lot of rooms in the cave and we saw stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws and cave coral deposits.  The highest river in the cave was 2ft.  We even saw a bat!  The water made the rocks reflect and made the cave look huge."
-Georgia and Sarah

"We are finishing our personal narratives in Writing using Google Drive so that we can publish them.  Today we edited with partners and made corrections."-Paul

"This week in Reading we are still learning about characters and how the writer shows us what characters are like without telling us.  We can learn a lot by their actions and the way the talk to other people.  Our read aloud book is Fish in A Tree I really like it."  -Kate
